April 9, 2013

Square Peg Communications Inc. has delivered a Communications Management Unit (CMU) emulator to Inmarsat and SITA for use in testing the end-to-end performance of the Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS). The CMU emulator communicates with an Inmarsat Classic Aero Satellite Data Unit (SDU) via an ARINC-429 interface to generate, receive, and log ACARS traffic.

The CMU emulator runs on the Square Peg GDU or BPLT Physical Layer Tester platform, or on a standard PC using a special version of the GDU or BPLT software.
