Both Square Peg and its booth visitors had a very positive experience at SATELLITE 2020, the industry’s premier event, where we showcased the RLS-2100 radio link simulator.
Available in the fall, the RLS-2100 features full wideband and mobility support and the most comprehensive impairments set available to help you test and verify system performance during the design, development and deployment of reliable communications systems using satellite constellations in any orbit.
Despite developing global events, we were pleased to welcome visitors dropping by our booth from around the world and across the industry, including antenna manufacturers, terminal manufacturers, network operators, service providers and system integrators operating in multiple vertical sectors. We had even more time that usual to go in depth with each visitor, and most requested our live demonstration of the RLS-2100, including LEO, HEO, GEO and hybrid simulations with up to 600 MHz bandwith.
By any measure, the response was overwhelmingly positive.
We heard from many visitors that while they have an increasing number of connectivity options, they are facing a corresponding increase in the complexity involved in achieving reliable communications, particularly in cases where a single terminal might need to work with multiple constellations. Many were impressed by the RLS-2100 user interface and how easy it was to recreate a comprehensive range of conditions and scenarios. The non-GEO orbits generated considerable interest – more than even a year ago – while some visitors indicated an immediate need for an RLS for applications requiring 500 MHz or even 1 GHz of bandwidth per channel.
The event may have been shorter than usual, but the RLS-2100 still managed to make a big splash.
